Tulsan Scott Phillips will be recognized by the Obama administration as a “Champion of Change” during a Tuesday morning ceremony at the White House.
Phillips is the co-founder and CEO of Isocentric Networks, an advanced data center services company, and a founding board member of Fab Lab Tulsa, a nonprofit community center for innovation, entrepreneurship, and education through a partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Phillips is being recognized Tuesday for his work in open government and “civic hacking,” the use of publicly released data, codes and technology to address community problems. The administration recognizes about a dozen Champions of Change in specific areas each week. Tuesday’s group is being honored for “building high-tech tools” for the public good.
